Maintenance Agreements

The post-design phase is an important consideration before building a web site. Pixel Earth Technologies offers Maintenance Agreements that provide the Client with a significant discount for routine maintenance work on their site in the post-design phase. This is another way the PET seeks to help the Client control cost.

PET offers maintenance agreements where the Client pays a discounted fixed rate in six-month intervals for a maximum number of hours. An example of a maintenance agreement fee would be:

• $200 (15% discount) for up to 6 hours of maintenance over the period of a year.

Maintenance Agreements are billed in half hour increments, so an agreement of 6 hours can cover 12 routine modifications or updates to your site per year. That's once a month!

Types of Maintenance Agreements

• Minimal: 3 hours of maintenance per year at 90% of the Hourly Rate.
• Standard: 6 hours of maintenance per year at 85% of the Hourly Rate.
• Quality Assured: 12 hours of maintenance per year at 80% of the Hourly Rate.
• Custom: Custom # hours of maintenance per year at 75% of the Hourly Rate.

What Constitutes Routine Maintenance

• adding additional menu items
• adding additional pages
• adding or replacing photos
• replacing the text of a page
• adding additional inventory
• making moderate graphic changes
• updating contact information
• adding new pre-edited audio tracks
• adding pre-edited video clips

What Does Not Constitute Maintenance (...constitutes development)

• Significant site layout changes
• The addition of database, or modified database functionality
• The addition of a bulletin board
• Taking digital photography
• Addition of flash modules or slide shows
• Significant photo/image editing of new images/audio/video
• Adding forms and writing the scripts to process them
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Print design projects, logo design, print ads

Notes

• Note that un-used maintenance hours do not roll over to the next year, so use them while they're hot.
• Likewise, if requested maintenance exceeds the remaining number of maintenance hours, the time will be billed at the Hourly Rate.
